Here it is, the first day of a new year. Wow. Just think, a whole NEW year to screw up in -- the past is gone and the future is yet to happen. Way cool.
So what do I want for 2009? Resolutions? I gave up on those cuz they were hard to keep. Well, either they were so wimpy that they couldn't really be called a resolution or they were so difficult they were unsurmountable. Therefore what I do now is just make plans for the new year and see what comes.
I know I have a book coming out in a couple of months that I have a short story in PLUS I was an editor for it.
BUT, what I would like is to have a book of my own -- all me, not a chapter or segment in it. I'm working on 2012 and hopefully it will be available to publish in March or April. Again, maybe too much, too fast. We'll see.
I want to do more travel this year and have plans for Mardi Gras in Jefferson, TX -- oh yeah, now there's a wild party just waiting to happen. LOL. Actually they do throw one great Mardi Gras down there. Jefferson and New Orleans have been linked together since before the Civil War; in fact, during the CW Jefferson was a stronghold for the Confederate Army's finances. Who'd have thought! Anyway, we hope to make it down there for that. Maybe a trip out West or possibly the NorthWest and maybe a trip to the extreme New England states closer to fall but NOT during fall. No reason to get caught up in all that traffic!!
Otherwise I hope to work on my house and get a fireplace or wood burner in the basement.
Again, these are my hope to do list items. If they don't happen; trust me, life will go on.
